Matt & Melissa Pond Family

Circumstances Matt Pond is a husband and father of three boys, ages five, two and seven months. Matt and Melissa's marriage has been, as Melissa describes it, "What every little girl dreams about. I have the fairytale." Matt was diagnosed with a brain tumor on May 27th, 2006 and has since undergone two brain surgeries. He is in daily radiation and chemotherapy. His fight is a story of strength and success that engages his family and the community around him. He and his wife Melissa are examples of inspiration, courage and a desire to never give up. When asked what he wants, Matt answers, "To keep plugging away and be the very best that I can be." With limited speech after the brain surgeries, Matt and Melissa work daily on re-learning the ABC's and basics of language and vocabulary. Their daily dedication, their shared loved and support, and their recognition of blessings-in times of difficult trial are a gift and inspiration to others.
