Jeffrey Scott Bills

Jeffrey 1 ˝ Years Old

Jeffrey is the fourth of seven children born to his parents Kerry and Sherry.  Jeffrey was born on September 20, 1975, in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Jeffrey was a fun, energetic little fellow and he brought joy to all whose lives he touched.  He was curious and generally a busybody when he was not sleeping.  He had a smile that would brighten even the darkest day and he was truly a special little boy.

In June of 1977, his family was in the midst of moving into a new home and in the chaos of the move there was a brief period when Jeffrey got out of sight.  Being the adventurous little tyke that he was, he made his way to an irrigation ditch and he fell in.

It did not take long for the family to realize that he was missing and the frantic search began immediately. After what seemed like an eternity, (but was actually about ten minutes), he was found in the ditch by his father who pulled him out and began CPR and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Jeffrey was brought back to life and was transported to what was then the LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls.  He lived there on life support for about two days.  It was determined that he was brain dead and that he would not live without the assistance of the life support machines.

On June 17, 1977, his parents and family made the difficult choice to let him go and the machines were shut off.  It only took a couple of minutes and Jeffrey passed away and returned to the Heavenly Home that he had just left just a year-and-a-half earlier.  Although his time on this earth was brief, Jeremy’s influence upon the lives of his family is eternal.

The Bills Family Foundation was created in honor and memory of Jeffrey, his sister Emilee, and his brother Jeremy who also passed away as a result of traumatic accidents.  The mission of our foundation is to serve victims of traumatic accidents and their families.
